D-day poem
Engines roaring guns blazing in the dark night sky. I feel a breeze brush past my face. As I step in the door I feel a nudge. It's my time. I jump with thrill and excitement. I'm glad to be out of that horrid plane. A bullet whizzes past me, my helmet falls to the cold hard ground. I release my parachute. I hear a blast. The plane is on fire, roaring down, men injured fall gently to the ground. Germans spot them. They grab their guns and shoot. Blood splatters everywere as they die. By dawn I met with my company. We sing a war time tune. The beach landings have started...
