Computer Science - Unplugged!

Today Kereru class started learning about Binary Numbers and how a computer uses only zero and one. Everything you see or hear on the computer - words, pictures, movies and even sound is stored using just those two numbers!

We tried a few activities to help understand this concept.

Kiwi Legend homework

I was so impressed with the standard of projects presented today. We learnt about so many Kiwi Legends many of us had never heard of before. We are all looking forward to hearing the rest on Monday.
Today we heard all about Bruce Mclaren, Alexander Aitkin, Bill Hamilton, Archibald McIndoe, Arthur Leslie Lydiard, Charles Upham, Sir Peter Buck, Beatrice Tinsley, Sir Peter Jackson, William Hudson, Joseph Nathan, Katherine Mansfield... I hope I haven't missed any. Head into class next week and you'll be able to read all about them.

Year six Kereru creations!

The year six team had a very productive day today completing their Kereru birds. Come into class and check out the finished product!
