Scratch Off @ Halswell School

On Friday the Year 7 & 8 Students of Ladbrooks were invited to a Scratch off at Halswell School. This was an awesome opportunity and all students learnt how to use the Scratch programme and some groups were able to create a complete game that gave points, had a time limit and had a limited number of lives!

Winter Sports - Netball and Rugby

Well done on an awesome day everyone!
We had so many examples of great sportsmanship! Students were competitive, encouraged their team mates and celebrated even the smallest of achievements.

Thank you to the parents who helped to make our days run so smoothly.

Ask Me Abouts

What a busy week!!

Winter Sports were held at Lincoln Domain - Well done to everyone who participated including the parents who made our day run smoothly!
Mathematics - Multiplication and division
Speeches - Kereru learners have chosen their topic, finished their plans and started doing some research for evidence to back up their opinion.
Myths and Legends - We have been reading about all sorts of myths and legends. Make sure you ask your child about the myth they have most recently been reading about.
Next week we will be incorporating drama into the myths and legends theme.
Shannon teaching -  Shannon has started her 12 days of full control. I'm sure the chidren in Kereru are enjoying having a different voice to listen to for the next few days.
ICAs and Otago Problem Solving - Those chidlren in Kereru who have taken part in the ICAs and Problem Solving exams are nearly done! We have ICAs Maths next week and the last Otago Problem Solving the following week.
Mandarin - Connie is still coming every Monday and Tuesday. She absolutely loves coming to Ladbrooks School and chose to continue with us for the rest of this year. Ask your child to teach you some Mandarin, they are getting very good!
